The basic characteristic of manual operation is lack of drying provision after sheets are pasted. Unlike Auto- Plants ,2 ply are not subject secondary heating. Many a time Manual Plants do not have proper mixing apparatus and are supplied with inferior Kraft paper. Starch Adhesives have to perform in these sub-optimal conditions and offer good bonding.
Normally 3/5/7 ply boards take very long time to dry ( 8-9% moisture). During rainy season with high humidity ( above 90%) boards moisture can remain at a high level ( 12-18%) even after 2-3 days. This can result in very soft board , very low Compression values and can even cause fungus growth ( white spots) in extreme case. Often boards are sun dried to bring down the moisture to acceptable level.

Wet Boards

We ,at Amylodex Pvt.Ltd. ( formerly Stardex) , understand implications of Higher Moisture in paper ,higher COBB in paper and insufficient heating at Single Facer (in some cases) in manufacturing 3/5/7 ply boards in Manual Plants. We have formulated high performance adhesive powders to offer good adhesion even in sub-optimal specifications .

Dry boards in 30 minutes

Adhesives give excellent bonding at optimal conditions. These products are capable of giving reasonable bonding even in suboptimal condition ( lower Single Facer temperatures , higher COBB up to 40, higher moisture up to 9 in the Kraft paper). In optimal conditions ( 7.5% moisture in 2 ply, Kraft Paper COBB 30 & Kraft Paper moisture 7-8) boards can dry ( 8-9%) in less than 30 minutes. Corrugation and Pasting adhesives are formulated with modified starches. We offer wide range of products in Corrugation Powder and Pasting Powder.

Corrugation Powder

Our range of Corrugation Powders offer excellent bonding and 100% Fibre tear. This helps to achieve theoretical B/S and CS for given paper combination. Products give very consistent viscosity and initial tack. These glues set very fast and allow further processing of board without any hindrance. These adhesives are low energy consuming and save on heating or allows machine to run higher speeds if mechanically compatible. Adhesives are free from separation and does not need any circulation. Even when glue temperature raise to 60 degrees in tray , glue do not thicken or thin and give consistent performance. Product specifications remain consistent from batch to batch. Pasting Powder

Pasting Powder is made from fine starches. These are processed in controlled manufacturing conditions to give consistent products. Each grade give standard viscosity and there by provide ease of operations. In normal conditions application of glue is around 40 grams /sq.mtr and board dries in less than half hour. Pot life of the prepared glue is more than 30 days. Glues set very fast and moisture is driven out of board chemically. However speed of drying can be slowed wherever it is needed. Product range is wide and customers can choose the grade as per their requirement.
